I have been pastor of Pine Ridge since 1994. Prior to moving to Kansas City I served for eight years as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center, Iowa, a small community just outside of Des Moines. I have been married to Marcia since 1985 and we have two children.
I graduated from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago in 1986 and completed my Doctor of Ministry at St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City in 2008.
I count it as a great blessing to be the pastor of Pine Ridge and look forward to the possibilities God holds for this church. I enjoy my involvement as an Oblate at Mt. St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS.
For quiet meditation during the day I recommend the site, "Sacred Space"
Associate Pastor of Discipleship
I joined the Pine Ridge team June 1, 2015 as the Associate Pastor for Discipleship after graduating from Princeton Theological Seminary. I am passionate about helping people of all ages grow in their faith through worship, education, mission and fellowship. What I enjoy most about Pine Ridge are the people and growing together as we seek to live out God’s will by loving and serving our neighbors near and far.My husband Joe and I moved to Kansas City after a short time on the East coast and twenty five years in Phoenix where we raised our two daughters. Moving to Kansas City was coming “full circle” for us since Joe is from Lenexa, Kansas and we met while we were students at the University of Kansas. Our daughters live in Philadelphia and we enjoy visiting and traveling with them and cheering on the Jayhawks and Arizona Wildcats together. Wonder where I got my name? Come visit us and I’ll tell you!
I joined the Pine Ridge staff in September of 1993 as a part-time secretary when there were just 256 members. A lot has changed since then: committees, programs, technology, staff, even our church building. I've seen Pine Ridge grow to its current membership of 643 and I have grown with it, both spiritually and professionally, from part-time secretary to Office Manager in 2011, to Church Administrator in 2016.
I am a native of St. Louis, Missouri but moved to Kansas City in 1980 when I married my husband Steve. We have three children and five grandchildren that all live just outside of the Kansas City area and keep us busy.
I joined the Pine Ridge staff in December of 2013 as the Office Coordinator. I’m very honored to be a part of such a wonderful church family. My husband, Justin and I married in 2013. We have three wonderful children, Cameron, Kinley and Cora who keep us busy. We live in Smithville, MO and enjoy being outdoors around the Smithville Lake and camping. Our oldest Cameron keeps us pretty busy with his sports.
I enjoy working in the church office. I love helping people and working with the different publications that Pine Ridge offers. I look forward to what my future holds here at Pine Ridge.
I have been a member of Pine Ridge since 1995 when I married Dan Scheneman. We have 3 wonderful children who keep us on our toes. I have served Pine Ridge in a few different staff and volunteer positions over the years. Currently, I am one of the youth directors. I have been in youth ministry since 1991 as a part-time youth director and serving on summer staff at Heartland Center. I still volunteer with many children’s programs because I love to see their growth over the years!
This church has been a blessing to me where I have grown to know and care about many different people that I might not otherwise have gotten to know. I enjoy watching the children of our church move into the youth program and then into adulthood! It is truly a blessing to be a youth director in a church that so highly values youth.
I have lived in Kansas City since 1977, and actually graduated from Park Hill High School, right across the street from Pine Ridge. My Youth For Christ youth group met in Genesis House! I graduated from NWMSU with a BS in Math. I began working in Children’s Ministry at Pine Ridge in 2004.
My husband Karl and I have been married since 1990, and have three fantastic boys who still keep us busy. We joined Pine Ridge in 1996, and the whole family was baptized together the following year. That is one of my fondest memories at Pine Ridge!
Teaching children is very inspirational; helping them learn about God’s love for them and others is truly one of the most rewarding aspects of working in Children’s Ministry. I am still amazed at how much I learn from teaching children!
I've spent my adult life in the classroom. I graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. I've taught Preschool, Kindergarten, and Special Education for more than 30 years. I was also a director of a preschool in Michigan.
I have two daughters, one daughter, son-in-law and grandson live in the Kansas City area. My other daughter and son-in-law are in Michigan.
I would love to welcome you to Pine Ridge Parents’ Day Out.
Originally from Nebraska our family moved to the Kansas City area in 2002. My husband Richard and I were married in 1986 and we have a college age son, Mason.
I have been in education since 1998 working with preschool and school age children. I have worked in the North Kansas City School District as well as faith based preschools and have a passion for teaching young minds. I was a founding teacher of Pine Ridge Preschool in 2010 and played an instrumental role in developing our program. We have grown from three to five classrooms and have welcomed hundreds of families into our preschool program. I love that our center allows the children to develop a sense of self-worth and grow emotionally through social interaction in a safe and nurturing environment. The best part about teaching preschool in a faith-based setting is that I can teach the children about the love of God and allow the children to grow in a spiritual direction. My motivation to teach preschool is that “light bulb” moment when a child grasps a concept for the first time.

Director of Music
After graduating from College of the Ozarks in 1998 with a BS in Music Vocal Performance and a minor in Philosophy/Religion, I served as Chancel Choir & Bell Choir director at Westminster Presbyterian in Springfield, Missouri, for four years. I received a MA in Music, with an emphasis in choral conducting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music in 2010. Springfield is where I met and married my wonderful wife, Lori, in 2000. We have two delightful children, Audrey and Elise. I have been serving as Director of Music at Pine Ridge since May 2003.
I have a passion for music worship in the church to be more than just a nice song or a great sound. It is another means by which we can express our faith and devotion to our God. Likewise, it is a means by which people experience God like no other. All styles of music can be worship if God is at the center of them. So make a joyful noise!
My name is Tashina Golden. I have been the nursery director at Pine Ridge since July 2013. My husband, James, and I have been coming to Pine Ridge since 2003. We have five children. James and I married in May of 2000. I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2001 with a degree in Business Administration-Finance.
